South Norwood Lake
Friday, February 15, 2008Believe it or not but there are still a few amazing places to witness when in London. One of those amazing places would be South Norwood Lake. Hidden away in South East London, you would able to enjoy coming up close and personal with Mother Nature without leaving London. South Norwood Lake is quite easily accessible with Norwood Junction being a few minutes away on foot.

South Norwood Lake is not as big as you might have imagined but there is still a lot of water and greenery to make it feel like you are in the middle of the countryside. Entrance to South Norwood Lake is completely free of charge but they do tend to close at specific times to avoid vandalism as you can imagine.

There are a few activities you can take part in including fishing, bird watching and sail boating. Lots of families take their pets for a walk there and decide to let their little ones feed the ducks and swans that make South Norwood Lake their home. There are a few rules when it comes to fishing at South Norwood and you will find a big board at the entrance explaining them carefully.

I can only imagine how busy South Norwood Lake must get during the summer months as they have a big open area for outside recreation and entertainment. Remember that South Norwood Lake is in the middle of a residential area so you would be advised to bring your own snacks and drinks as we did not see anything closely around.
