Croydon Shopping
Sunday, March 02, 2008London is made up of a lot of boroughs which all have their own high streets or in other words, main street. Along these high streets you can find a selection of stores, whether they form part of a chain group or a local business. Central London is not the only place you can go to for shopping, every borough has a hidden secret.

One of those hidden secrets is Croydon. Croydon is relatively far from Central London but still in London none the less. If you love shopping in Oxford Street then you will love shopping in Croydon especially around the Whitgift Centre and Centrale Shopping Centre.

The underground network unfortunately does not run all the way to Croydon and you will need to take a train or a bus to Croydon. One of Croydon’s biggest assets is the tram network which connects East London with West London and cost the same as a single bus ticket.

The atmosphere in Croydon is amazing. There is such a diversity of people all doing their own thing but still bringing that flavour to the area as a whole. Tourists have never ventured that far from Central London and they ought to if they want to bag a bargain instead of paying high prices for items in Central London stores.

Whitgift Centre and Centrale are situated next to each other, with a pedestrian street in the middle which is normally packed with people. Not too far from these two shopping centres is the farmers market which runs every day of the week, not be missed as they normally have great deals on fruit and vegetables. There is something for everyone that visits Croydon, you won’t be disappointed. Croydon is known to many as the second largest place to shop after Central London.
